Erik Truffaz et Antonia Lizana - Festival Éclats d'Émail 2026
Fascinated by his discovery of music rooted in the Spanish folk tradition (notably Joaquín Rodrigo’s *Concierto de Aranjuez*) and by certain expressions of that country’s cultural heritage (such as flamenco and religious processions), trumpeter Miles Davis offered his intense and poetic vision of it in *Sketches of Spain*, a masterpiece that marked jazz’s opening up to world music. A disciple who has broken free from his illustrious mentor, Erik Truffaz has become one of the leading figures in electro-jazz trumpet, whose creativity has never waned. His collaboration with the saxophonist and flamenco singer Antonio Lizana—a true phenomenon whom French audiences have come to discover and appreciateappreciate in recent years, was to culminate in an ambitious project: presenting their contemporary vision of these “Esquisses d’Espagne,” whose genius has endured through the decades.
