Une vie manifeste - Cinéma le Lido

The history of cinema has long overlooked female pioneers—whether actresses or directors—who were confined to sexist stereotypes reflecting the societies of the past. Often reduced to their physical appearances and to supporting roles on screen, women have gradually gained access to new cinematic representations as feminism has advanced.

*Une vie manifeste* is a film by Jean-Gabriel Périot.

SYNOPSIS: From World War II to the Algerian War, from the classrooms of IDHEC to the guerrilla fighters of Guatemala’s FAR, and through the Cuba of the Castro-Guevara era, *Une vie manifeste* traces the extraordinary life of Michèle Firk, a woman passionate about cinema and revolution, a free spirit in love, completely unbound by the conventions of her time.

In the presence of the film’s director. Running time: 1h26.
