Zébrures - Mansa Moussa Roi d'Or

A caravan crosses the desert. Drums rumble, griots invoke the ancestors, and the dancers bring to life the memory of a vanished empire. The legendary African ballets unfold a spectacular epic dedicated to the ruler of Mali, considered one of the wealthiest men in history.

On stage, thirty-six artists and acrobats bring to life, in one continuous breath, a flamboyant epic. Djembe drums, balafons, koras, and ngonis interact with monumental projections and immersive set design to bring forth a world of splendor and knowledge. Created as a tribute to Keita Fodéba, founder of the Ballets Africains in 1952, this performance also celebrates the legacy of a company that has become one of the greatest cultural ambassadors of the African continent.
