Le Casanova de Fellini

Here, Fellini adapts the adventures of the most famous of all libertines, Giacomo Casanova. He offers his own take on the legend, ridiculing this Don Juan-like character, a pure product of a decadent and declining era. Donald Sutherland portrays a striking Casanova, an antihero who is more melancholic than he is a hedonist. Set to Nino Rota’s famous score, Fellini’s *Casanova* is an impressive and atypical work in the maestro’s career, in which he reveals his darker side.
