Le Mas du Loup

On the outskirts of Limoges, in the commune of Couzeix, the Mas du Loup forest extends over 44 hectares of tranquil countryside. This departmental site, classified as a Sensitive Natural Area, invites you to stroll between nature and history, in the footsteps of the agronomist Jacques-Joseph Juge de Saint-Martin.

Under a regular forest, visitors discover a singular cohabitation of species: American red oaks, Sitka spruces and chestnut trees share the light. Paths lead to the Lessines wetland and the Saint-Martin fountain, witness to an ecosystem restored to welcome insects and amphibians. Managed sustainably with the ONF, this forest preserves its old trees to maintain natural habitats. An arboretum, established in 1988, completes this sylvan stopover, ideal for an oxygenated break just a stone's throw from the city.
