Le héron et la tortue

Take a leisurely stroll in the footsteps of the heron and the tortoise, in the heart of unspoilt nature. This easy 8 km circuit, starting from the charming village of Saint-Martin-le-Mault, invites you to a gentle interlude along the water, between ponds, wooded paths and preserved rural heritage.

You'll pass the Etang de la Mazère, a haven of biodiversity classified as a ZNIEFF, perfect for discreetly observing the birds that nest on its banks. The murmur of the forest will accompany you as far as the Rigeallet bridge, before a rural crossing to the hamlet of Monternon.

On the way back, you'll be amazed by the 15th-century seigneurial dovecote: a sober, majestic granite tower, a witness to a discreet, but very much alive past.
