Ici, nos savoir-faire - Visite Atelier Saint-Jean

Founded by stained-glass artist Mariane Tardien, Atelier Saint Jean is an independent space dedicated to creation and the transmission of craftsmanship, located in the heart of the village of Saint-Jean-Ligoure, in Haute-Vienne. Housed in a historic, renovated former grocery store, the studio is dedicated to the art of contemporary stained glass.

Step inside the studio to discover the steps involved in creating a stained-glass window. During the tour, I’ll walk you through the entire process of creating a stained-glass window: from sketching the design to cutting the glass, and on to traditional lead-setting and soldering. This opportunity to discuss my craft and the art of passing it on will be punctuated by a demonstration: I’ll perform these techniques right before your eyes so you can see, step by step, how the material comes to life.
