Lavoir - Etang de Sagnat

This is a recent addition to our heritage, probably dating from the late 19th century, when advances in hygiene meant that laundry (bujades) was done outdoors and collectively. It was used until the end of the 20th century by the women of the Sagnat housing estate, who used it to rinse their large items of laundry such as sheets.
