Les Halles Carnot

Smaller than their sister buildings on the Place de la Motte, the Halles Carnot are in fact Limoges' first halles! Inaugurated in 1856, they escaped the fire of 1864, which destroyed the former Halles centrales. Following this disaster, the halles were dismantled and rebuilt on Place Carnot, transforming the site into a replacement market for this lively district of Limoges.
