To mark the launch of the decennial inventory of France’s museum collections, discover the hidden side of museum professions. Following the first edition of “Behind the Scenes at the Museum” in 2020, the team invites you once again to take a look behind the scenes to better understand the specifics of their work.

What is an inventory? Conducted every ten years, this comprehensive and mandatory inventory allows us to track changes in the artworks and verify that they are being preserved under the best possible conditions. This involves examining the paint layer, taking photographs and notes, measuring, analyzing, and preparing a condition report. It’s a time-consuming process, but one that’s essential for preserving our national treasures. During European Heritage Days, it’s your turn to get involved!
