OYA'Z Quartet - Festival Éclats d'Émail 2026

OYA?Z (Orbital-Yearning-Ascension) is a young quartet formed by students from the jazz programs at the Paris and Boulogne conservatories; most of them are from the Haute-Vienne region. The group is establishing itself as an emerging ensemble, developing a musical identity at the crossroads of several jazz styles. Among their major influences is John Coltrane, whose spiritual and harmonic approach has left a defining mark on the group.

The quartet also explores freer musical territories, incorporating elements that border on free jazz, inspired by figures such as Steve Lacy and Thelonious Monk.

Beyond this legacy of the 1950s and 1960s, the OYA?Z Quartet is part of the current scene and also draws on contemporary jazz to fuel its compositional work, drawing inspiration from artists such as Sol L%E9na-Schrol, AMG, ?
