Platée

Musical direction: Marc Minkowski; stage direction by Laurent Pelly. A jewel of French Baroque opera, *Platée* ranks among the comic operas. Set to a libretto by Valois d’Orville—a small masterpiece of comic mechanics—Jean-Philippe Rameau’s musical ingenuity sparkles. Each scene is an iconoclastic blend of recitativeor ornamented, choruses, and dances that bring to life a plot brimming with secondary roles and twists and turns.
