Revolta - Opéra de Limoges
A piece for four dancers and an orchestra.
A memorable encounter between urban dance and one of the greatest masterpieces in the history of music.
Two worlds that seem to be polar opposites merge on stage: dance from the ghettos meets so-called “classical” music. Four krump dancers—a hip-hop dance style born in the suburbs of Los Angeles—join forces with the musicians of the Geneva Camerata. Without music stands or seats, the musicians play standing up, moving freely, engaged in a collective choreography.
The convergence of these two worlds—which at first glance seem radically opposed—generates incredible energy, in a stage production that is both a classical concert unlike any you’ve ever seen and a dance performance with unparalleled musical power.
