Stage de fauchage à la faux, martelage et affûtage

Discover an ancestral grass management technique that preserves flora and fauna (butterflies, bees and bumblebees, amphibians, etc.). The course takes place in the heart of the Limousin region, Haute-Vienne, 30 km south of Limoges, in an unspoilt environment. During the course, led by Alain Richard (a former Jura farmer), you will discover why, as part of a permaculture approach, it is worth returning to this ancestral technique rather than using machinery to cut the grass. Morning: presentation of equipment, types of blades, handles, sharpening stones, coffins, etc. Scythe adjustment (your own if you bring it), sharpening and beating, safety.

The afternoon is devoted to practice in the large meadow.

You can come without a scythe, and try out different models on the spot, or bring your own to see if it's properly adjusted. We even have a left-handed scythe.
