Built between 1932 and 1934 for the industrialist Maurice Monteux, the Villa de la Texonière is a remarkable example of Art Deco architecture in the Limousin region. Designed by Limoges architect Pierre Chabrol, this vast modernist residence overlooks the Taurion Valley and offers an exceptional panoramic view stretching all the way to the Ambazac Mountains. Its original V-shaped floor plan, central rotunda, terraces opening onto the landscape, and carefully preserved interiors exemplify the elegance of 1930s villas. The tour also allows visitors to explore its 11-hectare landscaped park, designed by landscape architect Robert Lepeu, featuring paths, a waterfall, a fountain, a footbridge, and numerous vantage points. Listed as a Historic Monument, the Villa de la Texonière is a jewel of 20th-century heritage in Haute-Vienne.
