Visite du château de Losmonerie

The owner, Mr. De Villelume, offers daily tours of his castle. The tour begins at the main entrance with a presentation on the castle’s history. Here is a brief overview: Losmonerie Castle was built in 1540 by Jean Chantois, who was appointed by the King, in the style of a Renaissance country house (tower, staircase, gallery, chapel). In the following century, Jean de Lubersac built the entire courtyard complex.

Monsieur de Villelume will then invite you to come inside and explore the rooms on the ground floor: in the 18th century, officials from the Limoges Finance Office, the Texandier de Losmonerie family, brought the refinement of that century to the interior with tapestries and furniture classified as Historic Monuments, as well as pictorial decorations.

Three gardens, which have been awarded the “remarkable garden” designation, are arranged around the Château de Losmonerie.
