A man inherits a plot of land in the Pankisi Valley in Georgia, near the Chechen border. He dreams of building a house there—perched high up, almost unreal—like a refuge suspended between childhood, exile, and the desire to start over. But in this region marked by wars and traditions, returning is never a simple matter.

With *Imago*, Dni Oumar Pitsaev transforms this intimate quest into a deeply sensitive narrative about identity, family, and belonging.

The film unfolds delicately, weaving through Caucasian landscapes, family reunions, and conversations that are at times humorous, at times dizzying. Surrounding Deni are a hopeful mother, a father who is almost a stranger, cousins, neighbors, and that question that keeps coming up: when will he get married?
