"%C0 As we write, 35 villages in southern Lebanon have been razed, 1 million people have been displaced, and Lebanon stands to lose 20% of its territory. What can poetry do in the face of barbarism? Perhaps it can bring out the best in us.

To barbarism, then, we will respond with our vulnerability and invite you to join us in experiencing a creation woven from encounters, mythological figures, rituals of consolation, and tender worlds in balance, and branches from our uprooted trees—to share our outrage, walk the tightrope, strive for balance to stay standing, embrace our fragility, and affirm that poetry matters, everywhere, and that it is our thread stretched out toward you.

Will the Beirut airport still be open in September for us to join you?
